Who We Are
We are a non-profit, 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization. We believe that bodily autonomy is a fundamental human right. We believe that reproductive healthcare in all forms should be available and affordable without stigma or shame. We believe in the human rights concept of reproductive justice, which SisterSong defines as “the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.”
What We Do
We fight to keep abortion safe, legal, and accessible for any human being who seeks abortion care by funding abortion and abortion related expenses. We provide on-site clinic support with volunteer Clinic Escorts and Clinic Defenders. We educate local government and the general public about the challenges faced by those seeking abortions locally, nationally, and internationally.
Get Involved
There are many volunteer opportunities available with Charlotte for Choice. Patients are always the number one priority at C4C, which is why cross training is provided for both clinic defending and escorting. Learn more about our roles below:
Clinic Defending
Provides safe and legal access to the clinic entrance. Defenders are in closer proximity to anti-choice individuals and/or groups, with the opportunity to engage.
Clinic Escorting
Gives opportunities for patients to receive individualized support and positive attention from the moment they arrive. Escorts are also there to provide aspects of safety and privacy.
